Getting here

Finding the Front Door

The museum is a two-story building on a split-level lot, at the corner of South Cleveland-Massillon Road and Minor Road in Copley, a few minutes west of Akron. Point your GPS at 2080 S Cleveland Massillon Rd.

Parking runs across both levels of the lot, lower and upper, with a way in off each of the two roads.

Look for the clock tower. The door underneath it is marked ENTRANCE, and that is the one you want.

One building holds both the Akron Fossils & Science Center and the Creation Education Museum, so there is a single way in for both. If you are wondering why one address carries two names, that story is here.

A wooden clock tower standing over a covered walkway, with a doorway beneath it under a sign reading ENTRANCE.
A long tan block building with a shade sail along one wall, a gravel dig area in front of it, and a clock tower at the far end above the entrance.
From the lot. The clock tower stands at the far end of the building, over the covered entrance.
A brown door on the parking side of the building, with a sign reading Parking Only and an arrow pointing to the museum entrance.
Not this one. This door is for loading, unloading, and deliveries, and its sign points you around to the museum entrance.

Once you are inside

When You Walk In

The counter is straight ahead of you. Tell whoever is at the desk that you are here for the museum and they will take care of your admission right there.

The museum itself is through the doorway beside the counter, under the Creation Education Museum sign. One admission covers the whole museum, and the audio tour comes with it.

Have your phone with you if you want the narration. Every station carries a QR code, there is nothing to download, and you can read how the audio tour works before you come.

The front counter inside the building, with a painted dinosaur mural behind it and the Creation Education Museum sign over a doorway to one side.

Before you set off

Good to Know

A few things that are easier to know in advance than to work out at the door.

Walk It at Your Own Pace

The museum is built to be self-guided. Numbered stations take you through in order, and you can stop at what catches you and walk past what does not. Every exhibit is listed here.

The Audio Tour Is Included

Every station carries a QR code, and each exhibit is narrated by Bill Sanderson, the museum’s founder. No app, no account, and nothing to rent.

Outside as Well as In

Your admission also covers the Outdoor Play Park, so leave a little time to get outside as well as walking the museum.

Paid at the Counter

Admission is paid at the front desk when you arrive. There is no online ticketing and nothing to print, so for an ordinary visit you can simply turn up during museum hours.

Two Names, One Building

The museum is a ministry of the Akron Fossils & Science Center, which runs its own activities and prices them separately. Ask at the counter about anything on their side.

Come and See for Yourself

No tickets to print and nothing to pay online. Walk in during museum hours and we will take it from there.

Groups are the one exception: a guided tour is arranged with us beforehand. See how tours work, or send us a question and someone at the front desk will get back to you.
